The Hotel Vagabond: Parisian chic in Singapore

The Hotel Vagabond: Parisian chic in Singapore

All in red, with photographs, golden sculptures, and trees with golden leaves that touch the ceilings. Here, art is at the fore.

Designed by French architect Jacques Garcia, who redid the Royal Monceau in Paris and the Mamounia in Marrakech, the Vagabond Hotel has attractive features and a very strong personality and character. The fully restored 1920s Art Deco building is in the Kampong Glam neighbourhood, close to the Sultan Mosque and Arab Street. Every detail of the cosy decor, rich in colours and refined materials, has been carefully conceived. Reserve a table at the restaurant, serving Singapore specialities – like Malaysian quesadillas and wagyu burgers – or try one of the bars' artisanal creations. There is also an artist-in-residence studio for women artists from around the world. This is an exceptional boutique hotel, where guests are swept up in an inspiring universe of art the minute they walk through the door.
