Surprising vegetarian gastronomy at MAM

In Milan's Porta Romana's neighbourhood, MAM looks like an old bistro but offers a modern cuisine using only organic and vegetarian ingredients.

1960s music can be heard coming out of the building. From the outside, the sounds are in perfect synch with the look of the establishment. Ancient china laid out on the shelves and chic retro furniture come straight from local second-hand goods dealers. At MAM – for Milano Amore Mio (“Milan, my love”) –, multiple references to the past can be spotted in the dining area, from the old solid wood counter to the drawings on the walls.
Conversely, the contents of your plate will reveal a most contemporary take on gastronomy, based on organic products. There, you cannot order, as the menu is a surprise. Once in your chair, just wait for the chef's daily special to ravish you. There is one thing for certain, all dishes are vegetarian-friendly: you may try a potato and pesto mille-feuille or a pumpkin custard in gorgonzola and paprika cream for instance. Take a break from everyday routines and let the surprise begin!
