Superica, the new temple of relaxed Tex Mex cuisine

As the birthplace of fajitas, there is no shortage of Tex Mex restaurants in Houston. However, famous restauranteur Ford Fry's reputation shall undoubtedly make a difference.

Located in a small cast iron stove factory that has been entirely renovated, Superica soon was on a roll. The setting is pleasant and the recipes well established, as the chef owns several other addresses in Atlanta and one in Charlotte. On the menu, comfort food with nacho chips, fajitas, tamales and chili con queso. Dishes born in the 1940s when traditional Northern Mexican food collided with the spiced up culinary habits of Texas ranchers. They are best paired with a Matador, the restaurant's pineapple and coriander-based signature margarita. As for the firewood-grilled meats, they are unanimously praised. Wine lovers will not be left out, as the list offers Chilean, Argentinean and Californian greats. And for your next visit, remember to pay La Lucha a visit, the chef's other restaurant located at the same address !
