Steel Pan, colourful gastronomical tribute to the Caribbean

In a singular and relaxed atmosphere that sees tropical patterns, swings, mismatched chairs and a red truck come together, Steel Pan offers traditional cuisine from the West Indies.

The unusual decor of Steel Pan in Fort-de-France enhances the overall relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. A red truck has been customised and converted into a bar, standing in the middle of the sky-blue room. For an original experience, make your way through colourful chair and tropical patterns on the walls to one of the wood swings. As for the restaurant's name, it references a melodic drumming that is traditional to the Caribbean and sets the tone for the menu.
The dishes mix specialities from Martinique, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Give the codfish-papaya purée and Christophine cream soup a try. Then order the Haitian sautéed and caramelised chunks of pork, parrotfish fillets or West Indies pork ribs. A subtle guava tiramisu or a turban squash custard will bring the meal to a sweet end. It will be hard to come down to earth after such an incredible experience, so be careful when you are off that swing! A perfect journey through the Caribbean islands.
