Inherently a place of music, Oslo hosts Øya, its summer festival that replaces the legendary Kalvøya Festival created in the 1970's on the island of the same name.
The festival now takes place in the public garden of Tøyen park, east of the Norwegian city centre. It perpetuates the myth started with Frank Zappa, Nirvana and many others with a rock, pop and electronic international line-up mixing young upcoming talents and big headliners. With 60,000 festival goers each year, 2016 will be no exception.
For four days and on three stages, cool melodies and riffs will resonate with Massive Attack, Ane Brun, Anohni, M83, Christine & The Queens, PJ Harvey, The Kills, New Order, Foals and Aurora.
