LUR, when Basque gastronomy meets Mexican cuisine

In Mexico City's Polanco neighbourhood, LUR creates a casual chic environment for you to enjoy its specialities inspired by two different regions: Mexico and the French Basque Country.

Earth-linked elements are everywhere to be found in this restaurant that showcases a plant-based decoration. Which is hardly surprising, considering the name of the establishment: lur means “earth” and “ground” in old Basque dialect. The furniture, wainscoting, lights and, generally speaking, wood everywhere are the stars at LUR. This soft atmosphere is being enhanced by the use of plants, spread around the tables, as well as old cement tiles and grey-blue bench seats. On the menu, Basque and Mexican inspirations come together for unique results, like duck cannelloni for starters. Fresh ingredients are always given prominence, like the catch of the day, cooked with artichokes, calamari and red hot peppers. Whether in the decoration or in your plate, LUR focuses on perfectly highlighted raw products.
