The setting: the Basque coast and Biarritz's legendary waves. Surfboard in hand, staring at the ocean, you tuck into breakfast at Le Surfing.
A favourite for surfers, Le Surfing rides a new wave of Californian vintage. Surfboards cover the ceiling. Surf posters in bold retro colours cover the walls. All year round, the view of the waves and the sunrise from the beachfront terrace is astonishing.
Expect lunch and dinner menus, with platters to share (cold cuts, Basque cheese…), unless you would rather try the vegetarian poke bowl, featuring red cabbage, carrots, avocado, wakame and a rice vinegar dressing, or the Mister Surfing burger (cheddar, caramelised onions, mesclun salad, tomato confit and BBQ sauce). More classic fare includes salmon ceviche, sushi, fish and chips with tartar sauce, and low-temperature pork ribs with spicy honey sauce.
