In the middle of the Houston night

In the middle of the Houston night

Whether in regular or live entertainment bars, country music gives way to more modern sounding genres : Jazz, Rock, R'n'B and even Hip Hop.

If you plan for a night out in Houston, go for concerts in small bars and cafés, rather than usual clubs that close early in the night. As in many other fields, you're likely to be surprised by the variety of the musical movements. Some bars in the district of Montrose and The Heights welcome highly talented Texan singers and songwriters. For instance, you can still sometimes hear a couple of country music tunes at the Anderson Fair Retail Restaurant in Montrose or at the McGonigel's Mucky Duck, an Irish pub on Norfolk Street.

The Indie Rock scene is well-represented at Fitzgerald's and Dan Electro's Guitar Bar in The Heights. To listen to foreign artists, check the House of Blues program, or The Numbers'. The most eclectic venue is possibly the Warehouse Live, where you can hear everything from Blues to Rap and Pop Rock.
