Robert Hollmann was an actor who became a hotelier. And it's a good thing he did, because his hotel has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Discreetly tucked away on the first floor of an historic building of the old city, it offers 25 spacious, modern rooms. Take the time to read a book from the library in the salon while the fire crackles in the fireplace, then head straight to the restaurant.
The menu is renewed daily and features fresh seasonal products from the organic farms in the region. The owner is an excellent cook and will not only feed you, but also make you feel well. If you feel sociable, you can join the communal table to converse with your neighbours, or dine on the lovely terrace.
To finish off the evening in style, settle into the small hotel cinema to watch Carol Reed's film, The Third Man, written by and starring Orson Welles, shot on location in Vienna in 1948.
