Contemporary hedonism at Kaléo

In Beirut's city centre near the marina, Kaléo advocates Western Europe influences in the kitchen.

Beirut has built a reputation of design capital for the Middle-East. Each new restaurant opening is therefore carefully conceived as being part of a larger urban landscape. Located downtown, Kaléo continues the trend with its arty atmosphere. The restaurant showcases a colourful and whimsical setting, with prominence given to cosmic patterns that seem to come straight from Miró's surrealist imagination. Paying tribute to Lebanese heritage, a few elements scattered here and there strongly hark back to the architecture of Byblos' churches. The compendium makes for a contemporary and casual decor, foreshadowing the contents of your plate. The menu offers Europe-inspired dishes, and you would gladly indulge in a grouper carpaccio topped with a few lemon drops, oil, spices and edible flowers. The grilled eggplant and miso sauce is another refined gastronomical proposition for the epicurean in you.
