African Heritage House, a tribute to African art

The “most photographed house of Africa” is also the largest Pan-African art collection.

In the middle of nowhere, you'll notice a red mass and a small oasis of greenery overlooking Nairobi's national park. It is definitely there, amid peace and quiet, that you will find the African Heritage House. Inspired by Djenné's Mosque, this majestic building, listed as national historical monument, intrigues as much by its history as by the treasures it shelters. Its owner Alan Donovan imagined and had it built in 1972. A fervent enthusiast of African art and culture, he invites you to an inner journey. From the Nigerian desert to the mosques in Mali, from Congo to Kenya, his art collection will dazzle you: 6,000 items, sculptures and weavings await you, from the roughest to the most precious.
How about extending that privileged moment spent among riches of the past and present? Book one of the very comfortable and absolutely unique rooms, decorated in the indigenous style of the house.
